Auterion seeks an experienced IT administrator to oversee network and systems across German offices, ensuring security, reliability and compliance as the company expands. You will manage IAM, cybersecurity tooling, and export-control compliance for defense projects.

The role requires collaboration with an IT Support Engineer on-site and reporting to the IT Manager, with travel within Germany anticipated and proficiency in German and English mandatory.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in system administration or IT infrastructure in regulated security environments.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and IAM systems (Google Workspace IdP preferred).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices, endpoint security, threat detection and auditing.
• Experience with multi-site deployments and cross-office administration.
• Willingness to travel, mainly within Germany; German and English proficiency required.
• Compliance with export controls and defense framework standards is a plus.

We are looking for an experienced IT administrator to oversee IT systems and infrastructure across our German operations, which now include multiple offices. This hands-on role will be responsible for ensuring the security, reliability and compliance of our environment as the company grows quickly in Germany. The successful candidate will oversee network and systems administration, identity and access management, and cybersecurity operations, while driving the certifications and compliance work required to support our defence customers and joint venture. This is a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly, so the ability to adapt quickly, manage multiple offices and maintain effectiveness under changing demands is essential. As the role involves handling export-controlled systems and information, specific compliance and eligibility requirements apply. You will work alongside an IT Support Engineer who is already based on site, and you will receive support and direction from the IT Manager, who will oversee the function.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Own the administration and maintenance of network infrastructure across all German offices, including firewalls, switches and wireless networks.
• Manage cloud platforms and licenses, ensuring availability and performance.
• Administer and maintain VS-NfD network, ensuring it is configured, operated, and documented in line with the applicable classified handling requirements.
• Drive and maintain the IT certifications and compliance controls required for defense work and the joint venture, working within applicable export control obligations.
• Administer Identity and Access Management (IAM), including user provisioning, de-provisioning and periodic access reviews.
• Manage cybersecurity tooling, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, SIEM and phishing simulation platforms.
• Support ad-hoc infrastructure projects, including office build-outs and onboarding of new tools as the company expands across sites.
• Maintain clear documentation for network configurations, IAM processes, security policies and compliance workflows.
• Act as a senior escalation point for infrastructure, security and access related issues, in coordination with the IT Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure, ideally in a regulated or security conscious environment.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, SSO management and IAM systems (preferred Google Workspace IdP).
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity practices, including endpoint security, threat detection and security auditing.
• Preferred hands-on administration of Ubiquiti UniFi in a multi-site deployment (SD-Network, access control).
• Proficiency supporting a mixed environment of Linux and macOS endpoints.
• Experience with, or willingness to work within, export control and defense compliance frameworks is a strong advantage (ISO 27001, ISO 9001).
• Relevant certifications (e.g. from CompTIA, ITIL, ISC2) are a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, changing environment, able to adapt quickly, reprioritise.
• Willingness to travel, predominantly within Germany.
• Customer facing experience.
• Professional working proficiency in German and English is a must.
• German citizenship is required.
