Zusammenfassung

Aiglion College seeks to appoint an Invigilator to support examinations at the Chesières campus in Vaud, Switzerland. The role requires reliable, flexible staff able to supervise exams, ensure security of materials, and support safeguarding policies.

Immediate start for a contract running through 31 August 2027, with workload between 10% and 40%. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and more than 3 years’ work experience, with excellent English and basic French.

JOB PURPOSE

The role of the Invigilator is to play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and security of the assessment and examination process. The Invigilator ensures that all examinations are conducted strictly according to required regulations, providing all candidates with an equal opportunity to demonstrate their abilities while preventing candidate malpractice and administrative errors. The invigilator also adheres to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.KEYS TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESConduct examinations in strict adherence to the regulations and guidelines of Aiglon College and relevant exam boards (including SAT, CollegeBoard, IB, JCQ, Pearson and CIE).Ensure all candidates have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their abilities.Safeguard and ensure the security of examination materials before, during, and after each examination.Prevent potential candidate malpractice and administrative failures.Follow the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.Invigilators are required to:Declare if they have invigilated previously and whether they have any current invigilation maladministration/malpractice sanctions applied to them.Confirm their availability in advance of main examination periods.Ensure a strong understanding of current exam board regulations, guidelines, and confidentiality requirements by studying provided materials.Complete relevant invigilator training prior to examination periods or at the start of each academic year as directed.

An ideal candidate will:

Be reliable, flexible, and readily available during major exam periods.Have clear, authoritative, yet calm verbal skills along with effective communication, interpersonal, and teamworking skills.Be a confident, reassuring presence to candidates in examination rooms and effectively manage group situations.Possess basic IT skills (e.g., familiar with the use of email and mobile messaging).Seek to achieve competence in the role and a rigorous understanding of examination board regulations.Have attention to detail, strict adherence to compliance and seating protocol.

Main duties in detail:

Before examinationsReport to and be briefed by the Exams Officer/SAT Coordinator prior to each exam session.Keep confidential examination question papers and materials secure.Ensure examination rooms are set up according to required arrangements.Admit candidates into examination rooms under formal examination conditions.Give full attention to conducting the examinations properly.Identify candidates and seat them according to seating plans.Distribute the correct question papers and examination materials to candidates.Instruct candidates on the conduct of their exams and deal with candidate questions.Start examinations on time.During examinationsSupervise and observe candidates at all times and be vigilant throughout examinations.Keep disruption in examination rooms to a minimum.Deal with emergencies or irregularities effectively.Record/report any incidents, disruption, or irregularities.Complete attendance registers.Record accurate start and finish times and track times updates.Deal with candidate questions according to the regulations.After examinationsInstruct candidates on finishing their examinations and collect all examination scripts in attendance register order.Dismiss candidates from the examination room.Check candidates' names on scripts and match details against the attendance register.Securely return all examination scripts and materials to the Exams Officer/SAT Coordinator.

OTHER TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise candidates with exam timetable clashes between sessions as required.Provide support to candidates with access arrangements (e.g., reading, scribing), following provided training.Assist with exam-related administrative tasks, such as "second pair of eyes" security checks.Take part in invigilator trainingUndertake any other reasonable tasks required by the Exams Officer/SAT Coordinator to support smooth exam operations.Understand and implement all school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding children and young people.Understand the School’s Guiding Principles and uphold the ethos of the School at all times.
