Unknown company seeks a Private Debt Investment Associate to join the Private Markets team. You will work closely with the Head of the Private Credit portfolio, supporting sourcing, due diligence, execution, monitoring, and reporting on private debt funds and illiquid credit strategies.

You will engage in market research, origination efforts, and co-investment opportunities, while collaborating with stakeholders and traveling to key European and US networks to maintain fund manager relationships.

Qualifikationen

• 4 to 10 years of relevant experience in fund investing with a minimum of 3 years in private credit.
• Experience in special situations and / or distressed credit investing (including credit hedge fund investing).
• Exposure to consumer debt, regulated capital transactions, liquid credit, royalties or asset-backed credit is welcome.
• Master degree with CFA or CAIA a plus.

Your future employer

Our client is a well-established investment management company. Their seasoned Private Markets team is looking for a new talent to join them and work in duo on their Private Debt Funds portfolio.

Your mission and contribution

As a Private Debt Investment Associate, working hand in hand with the Head of the Private Credit portfolio, you will be supporting the sourcing, due diligence, execution, monitoring, portfolio management, reporting activities and investments in private credit funds and illiquid credit hedge-funds (distressed strategies). The role will include exposure to private equity (PE) fund investments and co-investments as well.

As part of your responsibilities you will:

• Support the investment process by performing market research and analysis, and by mapping private credit markets and investment opportunities, with a US and Europe focus, including preparation of market and strategy related materials
• Support new investment origination and execution efforts for private debt fund opportunities. The role also involves exposure to private equity and co-investments opportunities
• Assist in due diligence across every stage of the investment process, including investment screening, qualitative and quantitative analysis, sensitizing financial models, preparation of investment documents or presentations and investment subscriptions
• Assist in portfolio monitoring and risk analysis, reporting and evaluating performance and preparation of any materials related to it
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on investment and monitoring activities
• Support any reporting or documentation requirements and contribute to the development of tools and databases
• Contribute to the team discussions and promote an open culture of challenging and being challenged
• Travel to maintain an active network of fund managers in Europe and the US and assist to major investment management conferences

Requirements

• 4 to 10 years of relevant experience in fund investing with a minimum of 3 years in private credit
• Experience in special situations and / or distressed credit investing (including credit hedge fund investing), direct lending (sponsored & non-sponsored) and mezzanine investing (junior capital financing)
• Experience in consumer debt, regulatory capital transactions, liquid credit (loans, high yield, CLOs, MBS), royalties, litigation finance and / or asset-backed credit is relevant and welcome
• Other investment experience is a plus, e.g. direct private credit investing, PE or PERE funds, co-investments
• Master degree. Additional certifications (CFA or CAIA are a plus)
• Team player with high degree of commitment, maturity, and integrity
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and collaborative skills with close attention to detail
• Self-driven and capable of working independently, in prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently
• Positive attitude, agility and openness
• Fluent English. French and other languages a plus
