Job summary

Jobup in Switzerland is seeking an AI Solution Engineer to build data foundations for AI and BI apps. You design data lakes, implement ETL/ELT pipelines, and connect core systems like Abacus ERP while ensuring quality and security.

You deploy prototypes to production, monitor results, and work with Internal IT, HR, Finance, GRC, and Logistics to turn prototypes into scalable, governed solutions. German (C1) and English (B2) are required.

Qualifications

With our initiative AI for Operational Excellence, we aim to deploy AI specifically where it makes our daily work simpler, more efficient, and more effective. Our focus is on support processes, for example in HR, Finance, GRC, Marketing & Communications, Internal IT, and Logistics.
Our AI Solution Engineer identifies the appropriate use cases with the specialist departments. You ensure that these become stable, secure, and scalable solutions. In Internal IT, you help build and further develop the technical foundation: data connectivity, data lake, BI, APIs, and AI services. You work closely with the AI Solution Engineer and bring solutions from prototype to secure, monitored operation.
You are hands-on, think in terms of data flows and architectures, and enjoy building things that run reliably even after go-live.

You are passionate about...

• building and expanding our data foundation for AI and BI applications, from data lake or lakehouse, for example with Microsoft Fabric/OneLake, through databases to data models.
• developing ETL/ELT pipelines and interfaces to our core systems such as Abacus ERP, M365/SharePoint, ITSM and HR systems, ensuring data is available in the required quality, timeliness, and structure.
• developing and operating APIs and connectors through which AI solutions, copilots, and agents securely access data and applications.
• implementing technical components for GenAI solutions, for example RAG pipelines, vector search, model configuration, and agent tools in Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and Copilot Studio.
• building and further developing semantic models, Power BI solutions, and AI-supported management reporting.
• transitioning prototypes into productive use together with our AI Solution Engineer, including deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, cost control, and evaluation of AI results.
• embedding authorisation concepts, data classification, data protection, and information security in every solution, together with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and AI Governance.

You excite us...

• with a degree in computer science, business informatics, data engineering, or a related field, or comparable practical experience
• with 2-5 years of professional experience in system/data engineering, BI, integration, or software development; initial implemented AI or GenAI solutions are a big plus
• with solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases, for example SQL Server or Azure SQL, as well as basics of data modelling and your experience with REST APIs, JSON, and common authentication methods such as OAuth/Entra ID
• with your understanding of LLMs, embeddings, RAG, and AI agents and your motivation to continuously deepen your knowledge in this area
• with initial experience with Git, CI/CD, or Infrastructure as Code, for example with Azure DevOps or Bicep/Terraform
• with knowledge of Abacus ERP, Power Platform (Power Automate, Logic Apps), or data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview
• with a structured, quality-conscious working style and the joy of explaining technical contexts clearly
• with good German (C1) and English skills (B2)
