Job summary

FHNW’s Campus Muttenz Library is seeking an Information Specialist with focus on IC & AI (80%). You will co-coordinate information literacy across FHNW locations, support AI-related workshops for students and faculty, and help shape innovative library services for researchers and staff.

You will leverage your background in library science and AI to enhance information competence, engage with academic communities, and contribute to ongoing service improvements in a dynamic university library

Qualifications

• Completed studies in library and information science or equivalent training or experience.
• Several years of professional experience in a scientific library.
• Experience in imparting information competence in various settings.
• Sound knowledge in the AI field.
• Interest in current developments in the scientific community.
• Very good German and English skills.
• Independent, structured working style as well as strong communication skills and service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Co-coordinate information literacy for FHNW library across all locations.
• Support IC offerings and AI workshops for students and faculty.
• Evaluate trends and develop new library services for academic needs.
• Provide AI-related services for lecturers and students, e.g. workshops and consultations.
• Plan and implement internal AI training for library staff.

Your tasks:

You can expect a varied and responsible role in a committed library team. You actively shape the further development of our services and support researchers, students and staff of FHNW in the areas of information competence, artificial intelligence and library use. Your tasks include in particular:

• Co-coordination of information competence (IC) for the FHNW library across all locations as well as collaboration with the information competence working group
• Support for IC offerings at Campus Muttenz for the resident universities and conducting library introductions
• Evaluation of trends and development of (new) scientific library services
• Provision of services in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) for lecturers and students, e.g. workshops and consultations
• Planning and implementation of internal AI training for library staff
• Participation in specialist groups as well as maintenance of internal and external networks
• Consultation on complex research enquiries
• Participation in user services at the information desk
