Novartis is seeking a highly motivated postdoc to join the Genesis program, embedding in Global Discovery Chemistry to develop transformative biocatalysis and protein engineering platforms.

You will work at the interface of research and development, gain leadership skills, build collaborations across biology, chemistry and external partners, and contribute to Novartis's portfolio while advancing your career in pharma or academia.

Qualifikationen

• PhD at the chemistry–biology interface focused on biocatalysis or related field.
• Hands-on experience in peptide- or protein-modifying enzymatic transformations.
• Strong track record of original research and innovative (bio)catalysis.
• Scientific curiosity and team spirit across disciplines in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills; English proficiency.
• Post-doctoral experience is advantageous but not required.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop technology platforms in biocatalysis and protein engineering for Genesis.
• Conduct enzyme discovery and engineering campaigns using high-throughput screening.
• Develop biocatalytic solutions for scalable drug candidate synthesis across modalities.
• Exposure to peptide chemistry and display technologies to expand biocatalytic solutions.
• Apply automation platforms for high-throughput screening and rapid iteration across campaigns.
• Contribute to defining scientific strategy on Genesis projects and shape platform direction.
• Collaborate with experts across biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, process chemistry and external partners.
• Communicate findings and contribute to patents, making complex science accessible.
