Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Special Education Assistant for a district-wide role, 0.875 FTE, with starting wage $19.77/hour. Under supervision, you will support students in emotionally disturbed/self-contained environments and assist with IEP implementation.

Responsibilities include entering IEPs, preparing materials, assisting with individual/small-group instruction, monitoring safety, and coordinating with teachers and parents.

Qualifications

• Two years of college (at least 48-semester hour credits).
• Associate's (or higher) degree.
• Pass the Para Pro Assessment and the Paraprofessional Standards Checklist.

Responsibilities

• Enters student IEPs into a computer system and prints data/files per procedures.
• Prepares and returns classroom materials; locates supplies and setups.
• Provides attendant care for moderately/severely handicapped students throughout the day.
• Assists with grading, attendance and testing procedures under supervision.
• Supports IEP implementation for individuals/small groups; monitors performance.
• Schedules parent conferences and co-ordinates with professional staff as needed.
• May perform other administrative tasks and assist with transportation/home visits.
