Swissquote, a leading Swiss digital bank, seeks an Associate-Director for the FX & DA Trading department to lead the eFX Spot team and drive operations in a fast-paced market environment.

You will report to the Head Spot Vice-Director, oversee staffing, risk and PnL, and collaborate with Sales, IT, and other internal teams to deliver compliant, high-quality trading services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in sell-side electronic FX trading.
• Previous leadership experience is a strong advantage.
• Deep understanding of market microstructure.
• Strong ability to translate large data sets into actionable insights.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

• Lead and supervise the eFX Spot team, fostering a positive, collaborative atmosphere.
• Oversee recruitment with Talent Acquisition Partner and onboard new hires.
• Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and address performance issues.
• Own realized risk and PnL, ensuring compliant operations.
• Monitor orders, trades and real-time risk; optimize price construction and risk systems.

Job Description

As an Associate-Director in the FX & DA Trading department, you will be in charge of the eFX Spot team. Reporting directly to the Head Spot Vice-Director, you will supervise the operational activities and manage people in accordance with your senior management.

Key responsibilities

Team Management:

• Leading and supporting the eFX Spot team:
  • Fostering a positive work atmosphere where employees feel motivated, valued, and connected to the team and the organization.
  • Promoting collaboration, trust, and cohesion among team members.
  • Addressing any potential conflicts among team members to your senior management and/or HR Partner
  • Supporting employee growth through training, mentorship, coaching, and advancement opportunities.
• Hiring:
  • Leading the recruitment process with your Talent Acquisition Partner
  • Ensuring new hires are properly introduced to the team, the organization, its culture, policies, and their specific roles.
• Performance Management: Setting performance expectations, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews, and addressing any performance issues.
• Conducting under performance process with the help of your Senior Management and HR Partner.
• Own the realized risk and PnL
• Ensure successful and compliant operations
  • Monitor orders, trades, overall market conditions, news flow, real-time risk and PnL
  • Fine-tune price construction, execution and risk management production systems
  • Monitor the overall client activity and ensure flow quality, as well as smooth client trading experience
  • Maintain a gainful network of hedging counterparties and market venues
• Analyze results, identify and drive improvements
• Data analysis: Use internal analytical tools and your own quantitative capabilities to draw data-driven conclusions, suggest actions, deliver reporting
• Documentation: maintain up-to-date operational procedures and ensure compliance
• Collaborating: Be a reference point for Sales, Software Engineers, IT colleagues and other internal teams
• Project Management: Contribute to product development and infrastructure improvements
• Monitoring: team’s capacity allocation

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in sell-side electronic FX trading
• Previous experience in a leadership role is a strong advantage
• Deep understanding of market (micro)structure
• Deep understanding of client needs (both retail and institutional segments) and the competition landscape
• Proficient in transforming large data sets into actionable insights
• Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, results-oriented, team player
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
