The World Trade Organization is seeking a Chief of the Quantitative Economic Research Section in the Economic Research and Statistics Division (ERSD) in Geneva. You will lead a high-caliber team of economists, directing quantitative research and developing a forward-looking research agenda.

The role requires a PhD in Economics, extensive modelling expertise (CGE), and strong leadership. Proficiency in STATA, R, Python and English drafting is essential; knowledge of AI tools is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Economics with excellent knowledge of trade economics and policy.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in trade policy modelling and quantitative economic research.
• Experience in devising innovative strategies for applied economic analysis and dissemination of analysis and research products.
• Proficiency with STATA, R, Python, and digital tools.

Aufgaben

• Lead the Quantitative Economic Research Section and set strategy and roadmap.
• Lead a team of economists with clear objectives and equitable workloads.
• Oversee publication strategy and production of research outputs like The World Trade Report.
• Coordinate CGE modelling and update WTO's global trade model.
• Represent WTO in relevant fora and contribute to capacity building.
