Job summary

Genentech is seeking a Head of US Patient Safety to direct the affiliate PV system, align safety priorities with IPS mandates, and lead cross-functional teams across the US. You will shape safety governance, ensure inspection readiness, and champion transparent risk communication with medical, policy, and external stakeholders.

The role emphasizes enterprise-wide impact, executive leadership, and collaboration with global safety partners to drive patient outcomes and regulatory excellence.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) or higher degree in life science.
• Minimum 12 years in PV/clinical research with 7+ years in senior safety leadership.
• 7+ years of executive people leadership coaching of large multi-layered teams.
• Executive presence and authority influencing senior leadership.
• Extensive experience engaging with Tier-1 health authorities and global PV ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead Affiliate Patient Safety strategy and IPS Leadership Team governance.
• Maintain holistic oversight of the local PV system for compliance and readiness.
• Drive safety risk management and local risk minimization efforts.
• Lead safety communication with healthcare professionals, patients, and external stakeholders.
• Drive collection and sharing of safety insights using digital tools and real-world evidence.
• Provide solid-line leadership to US Patient Safety Leadership Team and talent development.
