JOB PURPOSE

The Experience & Engineering team in Germany combines technology and experience design to create emotive, conversion-focused ideas, products, and campaigns. In this leadership role you will guide the strategic direction and growth of our engineering teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Leadership of Leaders: Lead, coach, and mentor Team Leads and Senior Engineers, owning their career paths and empowering sub‑teams.
• AI Change Management: Define the roadmap for integrating AI into the engineering lifecycle (e.g., GitHub Copilot, agentic workflows) and transform workflows for efficiency.
• Operational Excellence: Own department performance, resource planning, budget monitoring, and utilization to ensure profitability and scalability.
• Strategic Partnering: Collaborate with Directors and VPs to sharpen DEPT®’s technological vision in the DACH region and serve as a high‑level technical sparring partner for key accounts.
• Cultural Stewardship: Foster an inclusive, motivating, high‑performance culture and establish modern rituals that promote knowledge sharing and innovation.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Proven People Manager: Experience leading teams in a “manager‑of‑managers” structure or larger engineering departments.
• Change Agent: Passionate about AI in the software lifecycle with a clear vision for evolving modern engineering organizations.
• Frontend Background: Deep technical history in frontend development, enabling validation of architectural decisions and mentoring on eye‑level.
• Business Acumen: Understanding of economic drivers in an agency or consultancy, translating KPIs into actionable success.
• Communication: Confident communicator in German and English, able to present complex technical topics to stakeholders and clients.
