Job summary

BÜCHI Labortechnik AG in Switzerland seeks an experienced leader to own global ICT operations, guiding a move from traditional outsourcing to a more integrated, in-house, product‑driven operating model. You will ensure stable, secure, high‑performing digital services for ~800 employees worldwide and drive measurable improvements.

In this full‑time role you will lead a distributed IT Operations organization, manage L1–L3 service delivery, partner management, budgeting and governance, and

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT leadership experience.
• Experience leading global IT ops or infrastructure teams.
• Ownership of global service desk and multi-cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Strong ITIL background with DevOps evolution.
• Hands-on in identity, endpoint mgmt, networking, security operations and observability.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end responsibility for global IT operations including Service Desk, platforms, infrastructure and end-user experience.
• Ensure stable, secure, high-performing IT services worldwide.
• Lead and develop a distributed IT Operations organization with multiple team leads.
• Manage global service model (L1–L3) and drive continuous service improvement.
• Own platforms like Azure, AWS, digital workplace, identity management and connectivity.
• Drive security and compliance operations (vulnerability management, incident response).
• Manage external partners, service providers and licensing incl. FinOps.
• Own IT Operations budget, KPIs and reporting to senior leadership.
• Ensure smooth transition from projects into stable operations.
• Collaborate with the CTO and international teams.

Together with your teams, you ensure that around 800 employees worldwide rely on stable, secure and high-performing digital services, while continuously improving how these services are delivered. FinOps* Owning IT Operations budget, KPIs and performance transparency towards senior leadership* Ensuring smooth transition from projects into stable operations* Collaborating closely with the CTO, senior business stakeholders and international teams**What skills do you need to bring?*** 10+ years of experience in IT, including several years leading global IT operations or infrastructure organizations* Proven ownership of a global service desk and complex, multi-cloud platform landscapes (Azure, AWS)* Track record of running customer-facing or product-adjacent operational platforms (e.g. SaaS, IoT, connected products)* Strong service management foundation (e.g. ITIL) with the ability to evolve operations to-wards modern, DevOps-driven models* Hands-on experience across core infrastructure domains: identity (Microsoft Entra ID), end-point management, networking/SD-WAN, security operations and observability* Demonstrated success managing strategic vendors and contracts at scale* Excellent stakeholder management; able to translate between executive business language and deep technical detail* Fluent English required; German is a strong advantage**What can we offer you?** We offer you a key leadership role with significant impact in a global Swiss technology company.
