Job summary

World Health Organization seeks a Web Manager for the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) to maintain the programme’s web presence and ensure content is current, accurate and aligned with the brand. The role involves working with the communications team, IT and external vendors to deliver dynamic content and data visualizations.

Responsibilities include managing the main WHO polio pages, SEO, KPI reporting, and collaboration with country focal points to publish updates and programme

Qualifications

• Essential: First level university degree in communications, information systems or relevant field.
• Desirable: Advanced degree in communications, information systems or relevant field.
• At least 5 years of digital communication experience in developing countries and humanitarian settings.
• Experience managing web content for a global health programme.
• Experience coordinating with external web service providers.
• Knowledge of IHR classifications and vaccine-related communications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure site functionality meets needs.
• Lead and facilitate design updates with a web vendor.
• Maintain and update the polio map and key pages on the WHO site.
• Manage the GPEI website content to align with brand and mission.
• Coordinate with IT for domain registrations, security, and SSL renewals.
• Oversee SEO and keyword strategies to improve reach.
• Publish weekly polio case updates and programme headlines with data partners.
• Prepare and edit digital communications materials and news stories.
