Job summary

Bank for International Settlements (BIS) invites applications for its PhD Fellowship Programme in Basel, Switzerland. You will contribute to BIS research and analysis in economics and finance, collaborating with expert economists and research analysts in an international setting.

The role is embedded in the Monetary and Economic Department and provides exposure to policy-oriented BIS research, with relocation support and flexible hybrid work across Basel and home office.

Qualifications

• Enrolment in a PhD Programme (preferably in 3rd-5th year) in economics, finance or related fields.
• Expertise in conducting research in financial, macro and monetary economics.
• Ability to apply analytical tools (Python, MATLAB, Stata, EViews) to economic topics.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to BIS research projects on topical issues in economics and finance.
• Work in an international environment with staff interaction and BIS policy work exposure.
• Embed in the Monetary and Economic Department and participate in BIS research activities.
