Job summary

Roche Holding AG recherche un Expert mondial en Estimation et Benchmarking pour diriger l'intégration de la data science, des modèles prédictifs et du cost engineering afin d'assurer la certitude des coûts sur un portefeuille de projets multi-milliards de Capital. Basé à Bâle, vous piloterez l'application de standards globaux et l'innovation dans l'estimation.

Avec 15 ans d'expérience en estimation de mega-projets et une expertise en IA, vous contribuerez à des décisions d'investissement

Qualifications

• Diplôme de Master (MSc ou équivalent) en ingénierie, gestion de la construction, économie de la construction ou domaine quantitatif.
• Certifications CEP, CCP ou MRICS souhaitables.
• 15 ans minimum d'expérience dans l'estimation de mega-projets, contrôle des coûts ou gestion de projets internationaux.

Responsibilities

• Établir et maintenir des standards globaux pour l'estimation et le benchmarking des coûts (AACE/IPA/RICS).
• Mener les estimations en phase précoce et conceptuelle sur des projets internationaux.
• Développer des modèles paramétriques et des outils de prévision à l'aide d'IA et de data science.
• Suivre les tendances économiques mondiales et leur impact sur les budgets.
• Conduire des ateliers de risque et d'ingénierie de valeur.
• Animer une Communauté de Pratique globale et former les équipes internes.

La position

As the Global Expert Estimating & Benchmarking, you will lead the integration of data science, predictive modeling, and cost engineering to ensure cost certainty across our global multi-billion-franc capital project portfolio. Joining our Global Capital Investment team in Basel, you will leverage advanced analytics, AI, and historical benchmarking to transform raw data into high-value strategic insights. This is a unique opportunity to shape future-ready estimating standards and drive value-focused investments across an international sites network.

The Opportunity

• Drive cost certainty & standards: Develop, implement, and maintain global standards for cost estimating and benchmarking in alignment with industry best practices (e.g., AACE, IPA, RICS).
• Deliver early-stage & conceptual estimates: Lead early-stage cost estimating and oversee conceptual and basic design estimates across major capital projects worldwide.
• Pioneer predictive modeling & AI: Develop data science strategies using AI, LLMs, custom coding (Python/R), and BIM 5D to build automated parametric models and predictive forecasting tools.
• Track market economics: Monitor global market trends, inflation, and economic indicators to assess their impact on project budgets and organizational standards.
• Facilitate risk & value engineering: Support risk workshops to establish data-backed allowances for contingency, design development, and schedule reserves while driving value engineering.
• Build capability & community: Lead a global Community of Practice for estimating and benchmarking while conducting technical training to build internal engineering competency.

Who You Are

• Educational & Professional Credentials: You hold a Master’s degree (MSc or higher) in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a quantitative field, paired with certifications like CEP, CCP, or MRICS.
• Mega-Project & Controls Experience: You bring at least 15 years of hands-on experience in mega-project estimating, cost engineering, or global project controls across international, multi-cultural matrix organizations.
• Data Science & AI Coding Skills: You possess high proficiency in quantitative data analysis with hands-on coding experience in Python, R, and AI-augmented project intelligence (e.g., Claude, LLMs) to automate parametric models.
• Industry Standards & Methodologies: You bring expert knowledge of AACE/RICS standards, combined with proven ability in market economics tracking, risk workshop facilitation, and value engineering.
• Collaborative Leadership & Mobility: You are a strong systematic thinker and communicator who thrives on continuous improvement, fluent in English (German is a plus), and open to up to 20% international travel.
