Job summary

United Machining in Biel/Schweiz sucht eine erfahrene Fachkraft für globale Beschaffungsstrategien im Kabelsegment. Sie steuern Lieferantenportfolios, entwickeln Konzepte für Cost-Optimization und arbeiten eng mit Engineering, Operations und Qualität zusammen.

Sie führen Verhandlungen, Risiko- und Compliance-Management und setzen zentrale Beschaffungsprojekte weltweit um. Gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse sind erforderlich; Französisch/Italienisch von Vorteil.

Job description

• Develop and implement the global sourcing strategy for the Cable Commodity across all UMS sites worldwide. In addition, lead the sourcing strategy, supplier management, and cost optimization initiatives for Electromechanical Components and Electrical Cabinets within UM.
• Drive cost optimization and value creation initiatives, including supplier negotiations, cost reduction programs, volume bundling, should-cost analyses, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) improvements.
• Manage and develop the supplier portfolio, including supplier selection, qualification, performance management, strategic partnerships, risk mitigation, and continuous supplier development.
• Lead contract, risk, and compliance management activities, ensuring robust commercial agreements, supply continuity, and adherence to corporate procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and site leadership teams worldwide to support business growth, innovation, operational excellence, and the successful execution of procurement initiatives.

Ihr Profil

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Strategic Procurement, Commodity Management, or Category Management within an international industrial environment.
• Ownership of the global Cable Commodity across all UMS sites worldwide, including strategy development, supplier management, cost optimization, and risk management.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record in leading complex international sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations.
• Fluent German and English language skills (written and spoken) are mandatory; French and/or Italian are considered a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, combined with experience in cost optimization, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), project management, and cross-functional collaboration within a global matrix organization.
