Merck is seeking a Process Steward in Global Clinical Supplies to lead planning processes and SAP-enabled workflows. You will partner with process owners and SMEs to ensure forecasting, MRP, and master data support scalable supply chain execution.
You will drive standardization and training across GCS, maintain alignment with global process standards, and manage risk as part of a cross-functional team. Hybrid work is available with travel as needed.
As part of the Global Clinical Supplies (GCS) organization, the Process Stewards works at the interface between core business processes and SAP capabilities, helping to enable efficient business operations, support enhancements, and drive innovation. The Senior Specialist, GCS Process Steward ensures clinical supply chain processes are clearly defined and documented, and that they are supported by the right workflows, stakeholders, SME network, and tools such as SAP.
The Process Steward Team works closely with end users and process owner communities to ensure processes meet current and evolving business needs. Process Stewards also provide oversight and expertise in the SAP solution for their respective domain area: Packaging Execution, Material Handling, Distribution & Logistics, Planning, Source to Settlement/Tax/Finance, Trade Operations, ISO, Relationship Management, QA, and Compliance.
This Process Steward role is specifically oriented towards the Planning domain, supporting business processes and SAP capabilities related to forecasting (custom SAP solution), MRP/Supply Planning, and master data.
Lead the development and implementation of GCS processes that align with GCS short- and long-term objectives.
Act as the overall knowledge expert of SAP and Global Business Processes for Supply Chain Planning and Forecasting.
Drive business challenges to resolution with system solutions across our company’s GCS.
Support business case development (Enhancement Prioritization Management Form) and maintain the Demand Tracker for enhancement requests and prioritization.
Drive business process standardization, implementation, and training on new processes.
Ensure the integrity of a single global business process by reviewing SOPs and assessing process changes against system impact.
Contribute to our company’s GCS Global Process Steward Network, partnering with our Manufacturing Division Global Process Steward and COMET Functional Leads.
Support tier management and escalations for transactional issue resolution.
Contribute to Deviations, Investigation, and CAPAs in the planning area
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process-driven opportunities to improve business performance.
Develop strong, trust-based, collaborative relationships to drive change and execute priorities with a different group of stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or similar field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Science, Engineering or similar field with 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.
5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management or a related planning support function, with demonstrated knowledge of forecasting, supply planning, production scheduling, and business process execution.
3+ years of experience working with SAP PP-PI, with demonstrated knowledge of Demand Management, Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and related production planning processes.
Ability to manage a different portfolio of projects and initiatives.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Ability to accurately identify risks to issue resolution, project timelines, scope, or deliverables, and elevate accordingly.
Demonstrated ability to develop strong, trust-based, collaborative relationships to drive change and execute priorities with a different group of stakeholders.
Results-oriented, with a proven ability to execute collaborative projects and develop subject matter expertise.
Demonstrated expertise in system and business process design, including process analysis, optimization, and solution development, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
Experience supporting large-scale SAP implementations, including business process deployment, system enhancement initiatives, and/or master data migration activities.
Experience with advanced supply chain planning and scheduling solutions, such as Kinaxis RapidResponse, OMP or similar platforms.
Professional certification in process optimization, operational excellence, or continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma.

The salary range for this role is
$117,000.00 - $184,200.00
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
