Hitachi ABB Power Grids in Zürich is seeking a Secondary Design Engineer to support the GIS engineering team, delivering secondary design for high-voltage GIS projects, including Local Control Cabinet (LCC) and digital substation applications.

You will prepare schematics, support design across project phases from base design to as-built, produce BOMs and manufacturing documents, perform self-checks, and help implement standard engineering practices while collaborating with internal teams.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in secondary engineering, design engineering, or project engineering.
• Practical experience with engineering tools such as Zuken E3 or comparable ECAD tools.
• Basic knowledge of GIS, secondary engineering principles, and applicable standards IEC, IEEE, or ANSI is beneficial.
• Fluency in English is required; German and other languages are an advantage.
• Structured and reliable way of working; ability to collaborate across functions and disciplines.

Aufgaben

• Prepare schematics and related engineering documents for GIS secondary engineering scopes, including LCC and digital substation applications
• Support engineering execution across project phases, from base design and detail design through manufacturing documentation and as-built updates
• Create preliminary BOMs, reports, and manufacturing documents using approved engineering tools and standard processes
• Perform structured self-checks and contribute to technically correct, high-quality, and standard-compliant deliverables
• Support technical clarifications with internal stakeholders, project teams, and factories, and help document and close open points
• Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and engineering best practices, including participation in relevant expert communities
• Apply internal guidelines, engineering standards, and quality requirements while supporting safe and efficient project execution
