Job summary

The Life Science Career Network is seeking a German-speaking Electrical Design Engineer for a 12-month contract in the Valais region, Switzerland. You will design and optimize electrical systems for highly automated manufacturing facilities, align with safety standards, and support project teams.

Responsibilities include specifying low-voltage systems, drive technology, and electrical schematics, while ensuring compliance with NIN/ATEX and asset lifecycle goals.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Experience designing electrical systems for industrial manufacturing.
• Fluent German and good English required.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and implement low-voltage electrical systems for industrial environments.
• Lead projects involving drive technology, VFDs, switchgear, and UPS systems.
• Develop electrical schematics and design documentation for installations and upgrades.
• Provide technical expertise from feasibility to commissioning and handover.
• Contribute to asset lifecycle management and modernization decisions.
• Ensure compliance with NIN, ATEX, VKF and electrical safety requirements.
• Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement for plant reliability.
• Identify energy optimization opportunities to reduce costs.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, automation and project teams.
