Job summary

Proxima Fusion AG invites a skilled Technician to join our Villigen workshops and contribute to magnet prototype development and system integration for a commercial stellarator fusion plant.

You will perform hands-on machining, assembly, wiring, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical components, supporting fast iteration and close collaboration with engineers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Technical training in mechanical engineering or polymechanics.
• Experience in workshop environments with machining, assembly, and installation.
• Ability to read drawings and technical documentation.
• Detail-oriented, safety-conscious and quality-focused.
• Practical problem-solver with ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on workshop activities including machining, mechanical assembly, wiring, and installation of components.
• Build, test, and iterate on mechanical and electromechanical prototypes.
• Support manufacturing, integration, and troubleshooting of magnet prototype components.
• Assist with setup, fitting, adjustment, and modification of parts during prototype construction and testing.
• Contribute to installation, operation, and modification of experimental setups and test rigs.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to enable rapid prototyping and iteration cycles.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workshop and lab environment.
