Zusammenfassung

Université de Lausanne invites applications for a full-time PhD student to join the Environmental Fluid Mechanics laboratory (UNIL ISTE) and collaborate with EPFL on NCCR Genesis projects. You will develop microfluidic systems and study reaction networks under controlled conditions to advance understanding of non-equilibrium processes.

The position offers a competitive research environment, opportunities for teaching activities, and engagement with international teams across Europe and the US.

Qualifikationen

  • Master's degree (or near completion) in Physics or Mechanical Engineering or Civil & Environmental Engineering or Chemical Physics/Physical Chemistry or related field with a good understanding of at least one of: chemical physics, statistical mechanics, transport phenomena, microfluidics and video-microscopy.

Aufgaben

  • Conduct a PhD thesis on chemical reaction networks in controlled environments.
  • Develop novel microfluidics devices to study non-equilibrium and structured environments.
  • Work with experimental setups (pumps, pressure controllers, time-lapse video-microscopy) to quantify reaction kinetics.
