Zusammenfassung

Solenix is seeking a Front-end Software Engineer to design and implement the GUI of a distributed ground segment software system. You will build a modern web application enabling operators to view complex system states and plan, task and monitor activities across connected systems.

The role requires strong TS/JS skills, React or Angular experience, REST API integration and a focus on usable, responsive interfaces. Basel-based hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifikationen

Job Description

We are looking for a Front-end Software Engineer to design and implement the graphical user interface of a distributed ground segment software system. You will build a modern web application that gives operational users a clear view of complex system states and lets them plan, task and monitor activities across multiple connected systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Design and implement web front-end applications using React or Angular
• Translate user interface requirements and UX concepts into responsive, accessible and performant interfaces
• Integrate the front-end with backend REST APIs and real-time data feeds
• Implement visualisations of system status, plans and results, including map-based and timeline-based views
• Write automated front-end tests and support formal verification and validation activities
• Iterate the user interface across regular releases based on structured user feedback
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews and agile development ceremonies
• Produce and maintain technical documentation under configuration control

Essential qualifications and experience

• University degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
• Professional experience developing single-page web applications with React or Angular
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Experience integrating front-ends with REST APIs
• Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks and automated testing
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows (e.g. GitLab)
• An eye for usability, consistency and clean visual presentation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong prioritization and time-management skills
• Fluent in the English language

Other desirable qualifications and experience

• Experience with data visualisation libraries and dashboards
• Experience with map-based interfaces (e.g. OpenLayers, Leaflet, Cesium)
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployment
• Experience working with UX designers and conducting user feedback sessions
• Background in the space domain or other operational/mission-critical user interfaces
• German or French language skills

Work Location

This is a hybrid role based in Basel, Switzerland, combining regular on-site collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely part of the week.
