Techyon is seeking a Firmware Embedded Developer to join the R&D team in Mendrisio. You will design and optimize firmware for embedded systems using C/C++ and Python, focusing on Linux environments, device drivers and memory efficiency.

You will collaborate on machine vision and image processing solutions, participate in code reviews, and contribute to system architecture and real-time video capture, analysis, recording and streaming. Swiss contract, on-site in Mendrisio.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CS, electronics or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 2–3 years of firmware and embedded software experience.
• Strong Linux, C/C++, microcontrollers; good Python.
• Experience with device drivers and memory optimization.
• Knowledge of cross-compiling for embedded systems.
• Experience with real-time video acquisition, analysis, streaming.
• Git version control experience.
• Advanced English, written and spoken.

Core Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Firmware Embedded Developer with hardware skills to join the Embedded team in our R&D department. The role requires strong programming skills and expertise in machine vision, image processing and embedded computing, with a patient, organized and problem-solving approach.

Main activities:

• Develop and optimize firmware and software for embedded systems using C/C++ and Python
• Work with Linux-based environments, focusing on system performance and efficiency
• Develop and integrate device drivers for microcontrollers and embedded platforms
• Optimize memory usage and handle cross-compilation for embedded architectures
• Conduct debugging and memory leak analysis to ensure system stability
• Work with U-Boot, Linux Kernel, kernel drivers and Device Trees to enhance system functionality
• Collaborate with R&D teams on machine vision and image processing solutions
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to system architecture discussions
• Work on real-time video acquisition, analysis, recording and streaming

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus
• At least 2/3 years of experience in firmware and software development for embedded systems
• Strong proficiency in Linux, C/C++ programming and microcontrollers; good knowledge of Python
• Experience with device drivers and memory optimization
• Knowledge of cross-compiling for embedded systems
• Competence in real-time video acquisition, analysis, recording and streaming
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Advanced English, written and spoken

Desiderable Competencies:

• Experience with U-Boot, Linux Kernel, kernel drivers and Device Trees
• Experience with ARM processors in Linux environments
• Expertise in memory leak analysis and performance tuning
• Familiarity with Rust for embedded development

RAL: 50-65.000 CHF
