Start Emploi SA in Geneva is seeking a Financial Accountant to own the full accounting cycle across group companies, from daily bookings to IFRS financial statements. The role offers exposure to commodity trading and requires solid IFRS knowledge and English fluency.

You will close monthly and year-end books, prepare IFRS and statutory reporting, and support audits in a fast-paced, multinational environment. Excel expertise and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting/finance or related field; professional qualification is a strong advantage.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience covering the full accounting cycle.
• Solid IFRS knowledge and ability to illustrate standards with concrete cases.
• Commodity trading experience is a plus, not a prerequisite.

Responsabilités

• Intercompany transactions and reconciliations, including interest where applicable.
• Monthly and year-end closing for all group companies; IFRS and statutory reporting.
• Lead and support annual audits and management reporting.

Looking for an accounting role where you own the full picture rather than a single process? Our client, a Geneva-based commodity trading group, is looking for a Financial Accountant to take responsibility for the accounts of its group companies, from daily bookings to IFRS financial statements.

What you'll do

Day-to-day accounting

• Bookkeeping for the group companies, invoice booking and payment requests
• Cash transactions and bank reconciliations
• Follow‑up of overdue invoices

Group and trading specifics

• Calculation and booking of intercompany interest
• Monthly intercompany reconciliations and settlements
• Reconciliations with clearing-house accounts

Closing and reporting

• Monthly and year-end closing for all group companies
• Preparation of financial statements under IFRS, Swiss statutory requirements and management reporting
• Analytical review of balance sheet and P&L
• Preparing for and leading the annual audits

What you bring

• A degree in accounting, finance or a related field and a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, Swiss Certified Expert, French DEC/DSCG) is a strong advantage.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience covering the full accounting cycle, gained in industry, an audit firm or a multinational.
• Solid IFRS knowledge: you can illustrate the standards with concrete cases you have handled.
• Commodity trading experience is a plus, not a prerequisite. Strong technical accounting matters most.
• Advanced Excel and fluent English.
• Sound judgement, rigour, and the ability to see the big picture while drilling into detail.
