Zusammenfassung

Ansaldo Energia Switzerland AG in Birr (AG) seeks a Field Operator to ensure safe, reliable operation of the Test Power Plant. You perform inspections, start-ups, shutdowns, switching and LOTO tasks, and support commissioning and maintenance with control room teams.

You will work closely with maintenance, engineering and commissioning to keep plant availability high, comply with safety rules, and travel up to 30% for commissioning projects around the world.

Qualifikationen

• Technical apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Process Engineering or equivalent.
• Several years of experience in power plants, industrial facilities, oil & gas, chemical, or process industries; experience in plant commissioning is a plus.
• Strong understanding of rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, valves and auxiliary systems.
• Knowledge of Permit-to-Work and LOTO systems; good health and safety awareness.

Aufgaben

• Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment and systems in the field.
• Monitor equipment condition and identify abnormalities, leaks, unusual noises, vibrations, or safety concerns.
• Execute plant start-up, shutdown and operational procedures as instructed by the Control Room Operator.
• Perform switching, isolation and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) activities in accordance with plant procedures.
• Issue and control Permit-to-Work documentation.
• Operate and monitor mechanical, electrical and auxiliary plant systems.
• Support troubleshooting during disturbances and emergency situations.
• Assist maintenance during outages, overhauls and repair activities.
• Support commissioning and recommissioning of plant equipment and systems.
• Record operational data, inspection findings and equipment status reports.
• Ensure housekeeping and safety compliance; participate in emergency drills.

Field Operator

As a Field Operator, you are responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of theequipment and systems within Ansaldo Energia’s Test Power Plant. You carry out routine plantinspections, perform switching and isolation activities, support commissioning, testing andmaintenance work, and help ensure that all plant assets remain in a safe and operational condition.Working closely with Control Room Operators, Maintenance, Engineering, and Commissioning teams,you play a key role in maintaining plant availability, operational readiness, and overall operationalexcellence.

**Your tasks **

**Your profile **

• Technical apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Process Engineering orequivalent
• Several years of experience in power plants, industrial facilities, oil & gas, chemical, or processindustries; experience in plant commissioning activities is considered an advantage.
• Strong understanding of rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, valves and auxiliary systems
• Experience with switching operations and plant isolation procedures is an advantage
• Knowledge of Permit-to-Work and LOTO systems
• Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental requirements
• Hands-on mentality with strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to occasionally work in a rotating shift system based on operational requirements
• Good command of English; German language skills at conversational level are highly desirable
• Willingness to travel internationally for up to 30% of working time, providing opportunities toparticipate in commissioning projects, support customer operations, and gain exposure to powerplants around the world.
