• Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science / Data Science / AI or related field.
• Extensive Python software development experience.
• Significant experience with pandas, numpy, PySpark.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, SciPy, XGBoost, PyTorch.
• Experience with ML lifecycle and MLOps (MLFlow or similar) for versioning, registry and experiment tracking.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and containerization (Docker).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Ability to learn continuously and work autonomously in a fast-changing environment.
• English fluent; French appreciated.

F1 Data Scientist (Geneva - Switzerland)

The Data Intelligence Team works alongside different technical groups to lead the data transformation of the department. Our work focuses on designing, building and deploying end to end data solutions that will enable more effective real-time decisions trackside and allow data-driven design of future sporting and technical regulations.

We seek result-driven, proactive people, who are passionate about building high-quality software solutions that address problems by transforming how engineers use data and technology. They must have a desire to innovate in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, as part of a growing team pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the unique and inspiring world of Motorsport.

The position will be based in our headquarters in Geneva and will involve some travel to Formula 1 championship events.

Missions and Responsibilities:

As F1 Data Scientist your mission is to design, test and deploy data solutions that transform raw motorsport data into powerful, actionable insights. You will work with large and diverse sources of data including telemetry time series, images or regulatory documents across multiple championships with the aim to build innovative tools and models that enhance understanding, and support fast decision-making.

To accomplish this, you will be part of the end-to-end product life-cycle: from requirement gathering and PoC development to deployment of production-ready solutions designed to scale, be understood by end users, meet organisation requirements and adapt as needs evolve.

This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, owns their work end-to-end, and actively contributes to a high-performing team.

Data Science

• Develop Machine Learning models and advanced analytical tools that can provide further insights for decision-making.
• Further develop the FIA data analytics tool suite to optimise our remote and on-track support operations through real time analysis.
• Investigate multimodal approaches that integrate telemetry time series, image, video, audio, and regulatory documents to enrich analytical capabilities.

MLOps Solutions

• Build and maintain robust MLOps solutions to ensure scalability, reliability and continuous improvement of the deployed solutions.
• Collaborate with the Data Intelligence group to standardize data processing and promote shared tools across different FIA championships.

Latest Technology Watch

• Stay up to date with state-of-the-art models, especially on time series treatment and the multi-modality area.
• Stay up to date on MLOps tools, techniques and best practices to enhance team capabilities.

Profile:

• Master’s degree or equivalent working experience level in Computer Science, Data Science, AI Engineer, ML Ops Engineer or similar discipline.
• You have extensive experience developing clean and efficient software in Python.
• You have significant experience with data wrangling libraries such as pandas, numpy, and PySpark.
• You have significant experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as Sklearn, SciPy, XGBoost or Pytorch.
• You have extensive experience with the ML development lifecycle and MLOps solutions (MLFlow or similar) for model versioning, registry and experiment tracking.
• You have knowledge of CI/CD pipeline implementation and containerization (Docker).
• You have experience with SQL and No-SQL databases.
• You have demonstrated an ability to learn continuously and work autonomously. You are comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and fast iteration with users.
• You have demonstrated your ability to work effectively within teams with mixed technical expertise.
• You are native or fluent in English. French is not required but appreciated.
• You are interested in Motorsport and are curious about how the field evolves and how data can impact it.

The following skills are not required but if you have experience in any of them, we would love to hear more:

• You have experience developing computer vision solutions.
• You have experience with open source LLM frameworks or Cloud based managed LLM solutions
