Job summary
Swiss Himmel GmbH seeks an experienced ETL / Data Engineer to modernize a legacy on-prem data platform as it migrates to Azure. The role focuses on maintaining Informatica PowerCenter, PostgreSQL, Unix, and Autosys, while contributing to migration to Azure Databricks and Fabric Data Factory.
You will support data validation, reconciliation, and cloud adoption as workloads run in parallel during the phased migration, with production releases controlled via ServiceNow.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in ETL development, data engineering, or data warehousing.
- Hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter.
- Strong PostgreSQL SQL development and performance tuning.
- Proficient in Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
- Experience with Autosys job scheduling.
- Familiar with Power BI and Tableau reporting.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD and deployment processes.
- Working knowledge of PySpark, Azure Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric Data Factory.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and ServiceNow Change Management.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities
- ETL & Data Engineering: develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Informatica PowerCenter mappings, workflows, and sessions.
- Develop and optimize SQL in PostgreSQL.
- Build and maintain Unix shell scripts for file processing, job automation, and monitoring.
- Schedule, monitor, and manage batch jobs using Autosys.
- Support data quality, validation, and reconciliation across source and target environments.
- Azure Migration: support migration of ETL workloads to Azure; develop PySpark workloads in Databricks.
- Support data integration development using Fabric Data Factory.
- Validate migrated workloads through parallel runs and reconciliation.
- Contribute to modernization of the data platform.
- CI/CD & Deployment: manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines and deployments via Azure DevOps.
- Reporting & Data Support: assist Power BI/Tableau reporting and ensure data accuracy.
- Production Support & Change Management: root-cause analysis, CRs in ServiceNow, CAB participation.

- Set up and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for code versioning and deployment.
- Support Azure DevOps-based development and deployment activities.
- Ensure controlled and documented deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
- Reporting & Data Support
- Support reporting teams with data validation and troubleshooting.
- Assist with Power BI and/or Tableau reporting requirements.
- Ensure data consistency and accuracy for downstream reports and business users.
- Production Support & Change Management
- Support production environments and troubleshoot data and ETL-related issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Create, track, and implement Change Requests in ServiceNow.
- Participate in CAB approvals, implementation activities, and post-implementation reviews.
- Support production cutovers and migration activities.
- Maintain stability of the legacy platform throughout the migration.
