A private family is seeking an experienced Estate Manager to oversee the smooth running, maintenance & development of their private property portfolio. The role will primarily cover the family’s main residence in Geneva, an apartment in Paris & a boat in Geneva, with the potential to take responsibility for a further 2–3 properties depending on experience. The majority of the work will be Geneva-based. This is a hands‑on, autonomous position for someone who can take full ownership of property matters, from day‑to‑day maintenance & contractors through to major renovation & improvement projects.
Oversee the day‑to‑day management, maintenance & presentation of multiple private residences. Manage & coordinate contractors, tradespeople, suppliers, the handyman & the housekeeper. Obtain quotations, review contracts, negotiate renewals & ensure works are completed on time and to the required standard. Coordinate access to properties & supervise contractors on site. Manage end‑to‑end renovation, refurbishment & improvement projects, including budgets, timelines, contractors & final snagging. Liaise with architects, engineers, environmental specialists & other professional advisers. Oversee gardening & grounds maintenance, including tree pruning, seasonal planting & landscaping. Manage property insurance matters & claims, including coordinating repairs following incidents such as leaks or water damage. Maintain accurate records of contracts, invoices, receipts & expenditure for tax & accounting purposes. Oversee property systems & infrastructure, including projects such as security upgrades, air conditioning & energy‑related improvements. Conduct regular property inspections & ensure preventative maintenance programmes are followed. Coordinate the wider property portfolio, including the Paris apartment & boat, with occasional travel as required.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in private estate management, luxury property management, facilities management or a similar environment, ideally within a UHNW/private household setting. You will be highly organised, proactive & hands‑on, with strong contractor & project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. You should be comfortable dealing with everyone from tradespeople to architects, engineers & insurers, while maintaining exceptionally high standards. Key requirements: Proven private estate/property management experience. Strong contractor & supplier management skills. Experience overseeing renovation, refurbishment or capital projects. Excellent organisational & project management abilities. Comfortable managing budgets, invoices, contracts & documentation. Experience handling insurance claims & property‑related issues. Strong attention to detail & high standards. Professional, discreet, reliable & solutions‑focused. Fluent English; French highly advantageous. Willingness to travel occasionally to Paris & other properties.
