RIVR, part of Amazon, is accelerating its mission to deliver safe autonomous robots for last-mile delivery. As Engineering Manager for the Fleet & Cloud Systems team in Zürich, you will grow and lead a squad of backend and infrastructure engineers building the server-side brains of our robotics platform.

You will own the cloud roadmap, train ML workflows, deploy scalable infrastructure, and ensure high availability and observability. In-person presence at our office is required.

Qualifikationen

• 4+ years leading engineering teams, managing sprints, coaching developers.
• 7+ years building and operating large-scale backend systems in SOA/microservices.
• Proven AWS architecture and operations experience.
• Experience with ML training infra and data safety/compliance.
• Ability to delegate growth while staying connected to tech details.
• Strong judgement to balance long-term tradeoffs with priorities.
• Ownership mindset, trust-building, and talent development passion.
• Exceptional communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Aufgaben

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5-8 engineers, conduct 1-on-1s and foster ownership.
• Partner with teams to design end-to-end features for robot operations.
• Collaborate with software org to align timelines and execution.
• Represent team in discussions with Senior stakeholders.
• Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, and roadmap execution.
• Evaluate technical decisions and short-long term tradeoffs.
• Raise system availability, latency, observability; oversee on-call rotations.
• Translate operational requirements into scalable technical milestones.
