Job summary

TotalEnergies, Genève, propose un stage Energy Data Portfolio Intern au cœur de l’équipe Data Management, avec une exposition au périmètre Renewal France et à de nombreux sites de production (solaire, hydro, éolien).

Vous renforcerez vos compétences en programmation (Python, Excel, PowerQuery/PowerBI) tout en interagissant avec Front/Middle/Back Office et des parties externes comme RTE et Enedis.

Qualifications

• Formation d'ingénieur ou financière préférée.
• Compétences Python requises; maîtrise Excel; connaissance PowerQuery, PowerBI.
• Connaissance de Databricks est un atout.
• Esprit analytique et résolution de problèmes.
• Travail en équipe et autonomie.
• Anglais courant; seconde langue un atout.

Responsibilities

• Collecter des données énergétiques volumineuses à partir de sources externes et internes via des APIs et récupérer les volumes manquants.
• Assurer la cohérence des données en les comparant aux historiques et en mettant en place des contrôles.
• Injecter les données validées dans la base interne et produire des KPI pour garantir la qualité des données.

Activités

As an Energy Data Portfolio Intern, you will work closely with the Energy Data Management team members, and focus on the French Renewable Scope, which includes a very large number of production sites (solar, hydro, and wind) to monitor.

• Collecting volumetric power data from multiple external and internal sources via APIs and retrieving any missing volumes.
• Ensuring data consistency by comparing current data with historical records and other sources but also by building some coherence checks to identify anomalies.
• Injecting validated data into the internal database and producing key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure data quality.

Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining and executing these operational tasks, developing new controls to improve data reliability, and contributing to the issuance of Guarantees of Origin.

This internship offers the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of the French energy market structure, collaborate with Front, Middle, and Back Office teams, and interact with external stakeholders such as RTE and Enedis. You will strengthen your programming expertise across multiple languages and actively support the migration to next-generation tools and platforms.

Profil du candidat

• Educational standard required: Engineering or Finance background preferred.
• Solid programming skills: Python experience required, proficiency in Excel, knowledge in PowerQuery, PowerBI, Databricks is an asset
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
• Collaborative team player who works well with internal team(s), partners and external stakeholders.
• Proactive and well-organised, capable of working independently.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in a second language (French, Spanish, German or Italian) is an asset.

Additional Information

The team acts as the direct liaison to market system operators, ensuring continuous data collection from various sources. The team is responsible for comparing volumes, performing controls and analysis, and cleaning the data. This enables seamless and flexible access to accurate and robust data, which is then shared with both internal and external stakeholders. The Energy Data Management team collaborates with relevant departments to ensure the accuracy of volumetric data when implementing it into the trading system and reviews the robustness of all internal systems related to this data.
