Zusammenfassung

The Department of Infectious Diseases at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) and University of Zurich (UZH) invites applications from pioneering scientists in virology and host-pathogen interactions.

We aim to support an early-career researcher transitioning to leading their own lab and provide grant‑application assistance for SNSF, ERC or Cloëtta Foundation, with an invitation to a five-year non-tenure-track Assistant Professorship at USZ/UHZ.

Qualifikationen

• Eligibility criteria for SNSF Starting Grants (SNSF Starting Grants).
• Eligibility criteria for ERC Consolidator Grants (Consolidator Grant|ERC).
• Eligibility criteria for the Professor Dr Max Cloëtta Foundation (Medical Research Position - Professor Dr Max Cloëtta Foundation).
• Candidates should have research outputs that exceed doctoral contributions and redefine boundaries in virology.

Aufgaben

• Dive deep into unexplored territories in virology and/or host-pathogen interactions.
• Ideal candidates may have clinical interest as physician-scientists with training in infectious diseases.
• Lead experimental and translational work with a passion for teaching.
• Provide leadership to a research team and contribute to mentoring.
