imperix, a Swiss company, is seeking a firmware engineer to join its embedded systems team. You will work on FPGA-based functions, contribute to 2-3 epics per year, from definition to product release, and collaborate with software, firmware, and power electronics engineers.
You will interact with customers on larger projects and explore product documentation to understand requirements. The role offers the opportunity to shape cutting-edge prototyping hardware for power electronics.
Imperix is a Swiss company that develops high-end control equipment and prototyping hardware for power electronics, drives, smart grids, and related applications. Its products support cutting-edge innovation in corporate and academic environments, helping teams move efficiently from concept to laboratory-scale power converters. Customers value imperix solutions for enabling high-quality experimental results and accelerating development cycles. The company also provides integration services ranging from plug-and-play hardware and software to fully customized systems with specialized control algorithms, offering flexible support tailored to different prototyping needs.
You will be part of the firmware group (4-6 engineers), which is part of our larger software development team (12 people). As such, you will contribute to the company's developments, with a special focus on embedded systems and FPGA-based functions. A good overview of the related
activities can be obtained indirectly by browsing the product documentation on our website.
When working with us, you will act as the owner of typically 2-3 epics/feature developments per
year, which you will conduct from the project/product definition phase to the commercial promotion of the implemented result. For that, you will collaborate with the project director, who will
provide you with application-level requirements and guidance.
During your work, you will actively collaborate with other software development engineers, firmware engineers, and power electronics engineers. Sometimes, you will also actively exchange with
customers, typically during larger projects.
