Job summary

mylife Diabetes Care AG is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Burgdorf with a focus on low-power devices and safety-critical development. You will contribute to the next generation of connected medical devices by designing, implementing, and maintaining software in an agile team.

You will work with C/C++, STM32 microcontrollers, and participate in creating tests, documentation, and verification across hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience developing embedded software in an agile team (e.g., Scrum).
  • Proficient in C, software design, unit testing, and version control.
  • Understanding of software development in a regulated environment; medical devices or safety-critical fields advantageous.
  • Strong emphasis on maintainable software design and clear separation of concerns.
  • Practical experience with bare-metal software for low-power devices; interest in RTOS-based systems.
  • Commitment to quality and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Open communication and a sense of responsibility to the team.
  • Motivation to contribute to products improving lives of people with diabetes.
  • Fluent English; an advantage.

Responsibilities

Your main tasks
  • Design, implement and maintain embedded software based on requirements and software architecture
  • Document software designs and implementation decisions

Your profile
  • Experience developing embedded software in an agile team, such as Scrum
  • Confident working with C, software design, unit testing and version control
  • An understanding of software development in a regulated environment; experience in medical devices or another safety-critical field, such as automotive, aerospace or defence, is an advantage
  • A thoughtful approach to software design, with a focus on clear separation of concerns and maintainability
  • Practical experience with bare-metal software for low-power devices and an interest in RTOS-based systems
  • A strong commitment to quality, paired with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach
  • Open communication and a sense of responsibility, contributing to a constructive team culture
  • Motivation to contribute to products that make a difference for people living with diabetes
  • Fluent English; is an advantage
