Job summary

Bethel School District 403 is seeking a substitute custodian to support cleaning, safety and preparation of school facilities. The position offers varied hours and locations across the district for the 2026-27 year.

Responsibilities include cleaning, setup for events, security checks, minor repairs and summer maintenance to ready buildings for students and staff. A fingerprint/background check is required for employment consideration.

Qualifications

• Experience with cleaning equipment and techniques preferred.
• Ability to distinguish cleaning compounds and materials.
• Fingerprinting and background check required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned parts of school facility to provide a sanitary and safe environment.
• Opens and/or locks building doors and operates alarm system as needed.
• Sets up and takes down equipment and furniture for events and functions.
• Maintains effective communication with students, staff and the public.
• Performs major summer cleaning and maintenance to prepare buildings for the new year.
• Performs minor repairs and routine maintenance tasks.
• Performs security checks of facility, perimeter, doors and windows.
• Pressure washes locker rooms, showers and kitchen mats when needed.
• Washes windows.
