Job summary

We are seeking a Process Engineer (Associate Specialist Downstream Operations) in the Lucerne area for a state-of-the-art biologics facility. The role focuses on downstream purification and manufacturing within a GMP environment, supporting campaigns, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in pharma/biotech, a background in biotechnology or chemical engineering, and strong German (C1) and English (B2+) communication.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in pharma/biotech manufacturing in GMP environment.
• Experience with GMP-regulated manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, execute, and troubleshoot downstream manufacturing processes under GMP.
• Ensure GMP/EHS compliance within area of responsibility.
• Support process improvements and technology implementation.
• Participate in non-GMP runs and testing as needed.
• Create and update SOPs and electronic batch records.
• Review manufacturing and transfer documentation.
• Support SAP-based material management activities.
• Assist in process sampling and manufacturing campaigns.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality and engineering teams.
