Job Description

Role Purpose

This role serves as the senior Procurement partner to the EMEA Innovative Medicine Strategy Organisation (ESO), leading the design and execution of procurement strategies that enable business transformation, operational efficiencies, and simplification across EMEA.

The role will translate ESO priorities into procurement‑led value creation at scale, driving standardization, cross‑regional and global leverage, and AI-enabled productivity, while ensuring measurable impact on growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage in line with IM business ambitions.

Accountable for shaping future-ready procurement models, the role ensures that fragmented, local approaches are transitioned into integrated, and scalable solutions that improve speed, quality, and decision‑making across the region.

Key Accountabilities

1. Strategic Partnering and Business Engagement with ESO leadership

• Act as the senior Procurement partner to ESO, co-driving transformational change.
• Translate IM business priorities into procurement strategies aligned to growth, launch excellence, and customer impact.
• Enable and drive adoption of standardized, scalable operating models across markets and functions.

2. Category Strategy & Scale

• Lead regional category strategies focused on consolidation, standardization, and demand harmonization.
• Drive cross-market and cross-TA aggregation (e.g., unified supplier models, pan-regional RFPs).
• Partner with Global Category Leaders to align and deploy strategies while elevating EMEA priorities.
• Expand into ESO priority areas, delivering end-to-end solutions vs. fragmented sourcing.

3. Value Delivery & Performance

• Own delivery of procurement value through structural cost reduction, demand management, and reinvestment for growth.
• Ensure value is driven through operating model transformation, not only sourcing activity.
• Embed performance tracking linking procurement impact to business outcomes.
• Deliver multi-year value roadmaps, balancing near‑term results with structural value creation.

4. Operating Model & Spend Governance

• Lead the shift from fragmented execution to centralized, simplified, and scalable solutions.
• Establish clear governance, decision rights, and standard ways of working.
• Simplify supplier ecosystems and processes to reduce complexity and improve efficiency.
• Act as the integrator across ESO, markets, and functions to enable alignment and scale.

5. Innovation & Future-Ready Procurement

• Embed AI, automation, and digital capabilities into category strategies and supplier models.
• Leverage supplier ecosystems to drive innovation and next‑generation delivery models (e.g., content, data, digital).
• Position Procurement as a strategic enabler of IM’s future commercial model.

6. Execution, Change & Team Leadership

• Provide regional leadership to EMEA Procurement teams across Global Services and Agile to deliver consistent execution.
• Drive adoption of new operating models through strong change management and stakeholder engagement.
• Continuously improve Procurement’s effectiveness, speed, and quality of delivery.

7. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Ecosystem Leadership

• Lead complex, high‑value negotiations shaping long‑term supplier ecosystems.
• Drive pan‑regional sourcing programs (RFI/RFP) to reset categories and ensure competitiveness.
• Structure deals that balance immediate value with long‑term strategic positioning and innovation.

• Delivery of procurement-driven value aligned to ESO transformation objectives
• Adoption rate of procurement strategies across EMEA IM business
• Financial performance vs. targets (savings, cost management, value creation)
