Job summary

GondolaBio in Switzerland seeks a Director of Medical Science to lead field-based medical engagement for the Portal program in EPP and XLP. Reporting to the CMO, you will manage direct reports and execute the Medical Affairs field plan with compliant scientific engagement.

The ideal candidate will have field medical leadership experience in a fast-moving rare-disease program, with strong trial design knowledge and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced clinical or scientific degree (PharmD/PhD/MD).
• Established Medical Science Liaison/field medical experience with evidence of field engagement.
• People-management or team-lead experience with direct reports.
• Ability to translate strategy into field execution and align with stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of clinical trial design and data interpretation.
• Excellent scientific communication with compliant field engagement.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented and organized for field work with travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct field-based medical engagements with identified HCPs on EPP/XLP data.
• Manage and develop direct reports; set priorities and coach the team.
• Align with leadership on Medical Affairs field activities and priorities.
• Develop field materials, SOPs, and congress presentations.
• Support field engagement at medical congresses and field-team logistics.
• Track and report field metrics to inform planning.
• Develop deep scientific expertise in EPP/XLP and porphyrias.
