Through its Restaurant Brands for Good framework, RBI is improving sustainable outcomes related to its food, the planet, and people and communities. RBI is committed to growing the TIM HORTONS®, BURGER KING®, POPEYES® and FIREHOUSE SUBS® brands by leveraging their respective core values, employee and franchisee relationships, and long track records of community support. The CoE will provide commodity intelligence, data, risk management, and commercial decision support to procurement teams across RBI’s brands and markets. It will act as the analytical backbone of the global procurement function, helping regional teams make faster, data-driven sourcing and negotiation decisions.

Our Opportunity:

The Director, Global Commodity Management & Analytics will build and lead RBI’s newly established CoE, including its operating model, governance, analytical capabilities, tools, and team. This is a newly created global role for a commercially minded commodity leader with deep market expertise, strong negotiation experience, advanced analytical capabilities, and an interest in using AI and data to improve procurement decisions. The role will focus primarily on the following direct commodity categories: Sugar, Wheat, Soy, Corn, Pork, Beef, Chicken, Paperboard, and Potatoes The CoE will own market intelligence, forecasting, cost modelling, risk management, sourcing strategy, and upstream commercial negotiations for these categories, depending on the market. The role will also provide advisory intelligence and risk support for selected indirect categories, including metals, steel, engineering, energy, maintenance, repair and operations, and industrial gases. The CoE will lead or support negotiations for upstream raw materials, including raw meat cuts, agricultural commodities, and packaging feedstocks. RBI follows a five-day, in-office work schedule to support collaboration. Candidates should be comfortable working onsite five days per week.

Your Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead the Global Commodities & Intelligence CoE, establishing its operating model, governance, team structure, priorities, and ways of working with regional and global procurement teams.
  • Define RBI’s global commodity intelligence strategy, including frameworks for market monitoring, price forecasting, risk assessment, scenario planning, and procurement timing recommendations.
  • Develop and deploy AI-enabled intelligence capabilities, including forecasting models, real-time market monitoring, should-cost tools, scenario analysis, and executive risk dashboards.
  • Own RBI’s global commodity risk management strategy, covering forward contracting, index-linked pricing, supplier diversification, pooling opportunities, hedging considerations, and spot, forward, and long-term supply arrangements.
  • Lead upstream commodity negotiations across the direct category portfolio, from market analysis and strategy development through to supplier engagement and commercial execution, as appropriate by market.
  • Lead RBI’s Global Contingency and Risk Management Programme, including supply-chain stress testing, inventory and business-continuity planning, geopolitical and weather-risk analysis, reporting, and executive escalation.
  • Establish global should-cost models, cost benchmarks, and pricing mechanisms that help procurement teams validate supplier proposals and strengthen sourcing and negotiation decisions.
  • Manage external commodity consultancies, market-data providers, and intelligence platforms, while building an integrated and scalable data infrastructure across markets and functions.
  • Act as RBI’s global commodity intelligence leader, delivering market outlooks, cost-impact analysis, sourcing recommendations, and executive briefings to senior procurement, finance, and brand leaders.
  • Partner with Procurement, Finance, Treasury, Supply Chain, Operations, R&D, Quality Assurance, Sustainability, and Brand teams to deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, supply resilience, responsible sourcing, and stronger procurement governance.
Your skills & experience:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in global commodity procurement, trading, supply chain risk management, or commodity market intelligence within a large-scale FMCG, food service, QSR, or agri-food business.
  • Demonstrable expertise across at least three of the nine Direct categories; proven track record of executing upstream raw commodity negotiations at significant scale, including proteins (Beef, Chicken, Pork), grains, oilseeds, or packaging feedstocks.
  • Strong working knowledge of commodity markets, exchange mechanics (CME, CBOT, ICE), financial risk instruments (futures, options, swaps), and price risk management frameworks.
  • Proven experience deploying or commissioning AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics tools for commodity forecasting, market monitoring, or procurement decision support.
  • Experience building or leading a Centre of Excellence, intelligence function, or data capability within a complex global organization.
  • Track record of managing external consultancies, market data vendors, and analytics platform relationships at enterprise scale.
  • Experience operating within global matrixed organizations with multiple brands, procurement cooperatives, or franchise networks; able to influence without direct authority across regional structures.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate commodity market dynamics into clear business recommendations and financial impact models.
  • Excellent communicator and executive presence; comfortable presenting to C-suite and Board-level audiences.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages (French, German, Spanish, Portuguese) are an asset.
We are looking for:

A seasoned commodity professional who can build and lead a high-impact global intelligence function while also owning the commercial execution of RBI’s upstream raw commodity portfolio. You operate at the intersection of markets, data, and strategy. You are as comfortable at the negotiating table as you are presenting a risk scenario to the Board. You influence regional teams through the quality of your intelligence and the rigor of your commercial outcomes. You are energized by complexity, clarity, and building things that others depend on. Looking for high impact work in a fast paced and ever changing environment? Then you have come to the right place. RBI is consistently looking for individuals with a passion to learn and desire to make change.

Benefits at all of our global offices are focused on physical, mental and financial wellness. We offer unique and progressive benefits, including a comprehensive global paid parental leave program that supports employees as they expand their families, free telemedicine and mental wellness support.
