Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience leading large cross-functional programs in complex matrix organizations.

• Experience developing operating models, governance and execution plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial operations strategies aligned with portfolio, regional, and operating unit objectives.
• Lead commercial funnel management, including account prioritization and pipeline development.
• Establish governance processes, rhythms, and reviews across Region-Led Markets.
• Drive market segmentation, readiness assessments, and resource prioritization.
• Coordinate tender management and align customer requirements with strategy and execution.
• Create and standardize dashboards, reporting tools, and business-review processes.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Operations, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, and Strategy teams to accelerate execution.
• Scale best practices across markets while adapting to local healthcare systems.

A Day in the Life

The Commercial Operations Director will lead commercial operations strategy and execution for the Medical Surgical Portfolio across Region-Led Markets and the Greater China markets of Hong Kong and Taiwan. This role partners with regional, global, and operating unit leaders to drive commercial readiness, optimize funnel performance, establish scalable operating processes, and improve execution across multiple businesses and markets.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Develop and execute commercial operations strategies aligned with portfolio, regional, and operating unit objectives.
• Lead commercial funnel management, including account selection, pipeline development, prioritization, conversion, and execution tracking.
• Establish governance processes, operating rhythms, planning mechanisms, and performance reviews across Region-Led Markets.
• Drive market segmentation, commercial readiness assessments, and resource prioritization to maximize growth opportunities.
• Coordinate tender management and sales-for-design activities to align customer requirements, commercial strategy, and operational execution.
• Create and standardize dashboards, reporting tools, and business-review processes that improve forecast accuracy and pipeline visibility.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Operations, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, and Strategy teams to remove barriers and accelerate commercial execution.
• Identify and scale best practices across markets while adapting approaches to local healthcare systems, customer needs, and market dynamics.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience OR advanced degree with 8+ years of experience, including 7+ years in commercial operations, sales operations, strategy, program leadership, or management roles.
• Experience leading large cross-functional programs through influence within complex matrix organizations.
• Experience in commercial funnel management, account prioritization, tender management, sales planning, or go-to-market execution.
• Experience working across multiple countries, regions, or complex international market environments.
• Experience developing operating models, governance structures, business processes, and execution plans.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in surgical robotics, digital surgery, medical devices, healthcare technology, or other regulated industries.
• Experience supporting commercial operations across Region-Led Markets, Greater China, or other geographically diverse markets.
• Experience launching or scaling new businesses, commercial models, product portfolios, or market-development capabilities.
• Knowledge of healthcare procurement, reimbursement, regulatory, and clinical adoption factors affecting advanced medical technologies.
• Master's degree in Business, Healthcare, Engineering, or Science.

Pay range / Rango salarial / Intervalo salarial /Fascia retributiva / Tranche de salaire / Gehaltsband / Salaribereik: Switzerland: 205,920.00 CHF - 308,880.00 CHF | The final salary within this range will be determined based on objective, job-related criteria, including relevant experience, skills and qualifications, in accordance with our compensation framework.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
