Job summary

Helvetic Airways AG in Zurich seeks a Direct Entry Commander. You hold final authority for the safe operation of the flight, including the aircraft, crew and passengers, and you make critical decisions in all situations.

Requirements include an ATPL with IR, thousands of hours as PIC and as pilot in MP(A) operations, and fluency in English and German. Start is Autumn 2026 with Type Rating at Kloten; multiple part-time models are available, with home base at Zurich Airport.

Qualifications

• Valid ATPL with Instrument Rating (IR).
• Minimum 1,000 hours as PIC on CS 25 airplanes in MP(A) operations.
• Minimum 3,500 hours on CS 25 airplanes in MP(A) operations.
• Passport valid without restrictions to EU/EFTA countries.
• Several years of experience as a pilot in commercial aviation operations.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• High resilience and sense of responsibility.
• Fluent in English (ICAO Level 4 or higher).
• Strong command in German.

Job description

Direct Entry Commander

As Commander, you hold the final authority for the safe operation of the flight, including the assigned Helvetic Airways aircraft, crew, and passengers. You are the ultimate decision maker for all operational matters on board, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance at all times.

• Exercise final authority over the safe conduct of the flight
• Lead and coordinate the entire flight crew

• Make decisions in normal and exceptional circumstances
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (ATC, Operations, etc.).

Requirements

• Valid ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) with a valid Instrument Rating (IR)
• Minimum 1'000 hours as PIC on CS 25 airplanes in MP(A) operations
• Minimum 3'500 hours on CS 25 airplanes in MP(A) operations
• Valid Passport without restrictions to EU/EFTA Countries
• Several years of experience as a pilot in commercial aviation operations
• Strong leadership and decision making skills
• High resilience and sense of responsibility
• Fluent in English (ICAO Level 4 or higher)
• Strong command in German
