Zusammenfassung

Bachem is seeking a DevOps Platform Engineer (100%) to build, operate and scale an Internal Developer Platform for our Global IT department in Bubendorf. You will automate infrastructure, design guardrails and develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

You will collaborate with developers across functions, maintain security and compliance, and help teams become more productive through self-service platform capabilities. Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in IT or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in DevOps or a closely related software engineering role.
• Strong hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise, including GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines and repository governance.
• Solid experience automating infrastructure-as-code deployments (Terraform) via GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, targeting Azure and/or AWS.

Aufgaben

• Help scale the platform as adoption grows by improving reusable templates, guardrails and self-service capabilities.
• Keep the platform reliable, compliant and secure—monitoring, observability, incident response, patching and continuous improvement of operational practices.
• Implement platform governance and guardrails: access management, policies, secrets handling and cost awareness.
• Facilitate discussions and drive alignment across stakeholder groups with different priorities, translating requirements into shared platform capabilities.
• Partner with developers across a wide range of skill levels: coaching newcomers and enabling professional developers.
• Create documentation, onboarding materials and guidelines for easy adoption by developers.
• Collaborate with the Platform Owner to translate the platform roadmap into technical solutions.

We are building an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that lets teams across Bachem deliver applications in a standardized, self‑service way. In this hands‑on role you will build, operate and scale the platform – bringing your experience to strengthen its core foundations today, and helping grow it into the backbone that serves the whole organization tomorrow.

Your tasks:

• Build, automate and operate our Internal Developer Platform based on GitHub Enterprise and cloud infrastructure
• Design and maintain infrastructure as code to provision environments, resources and guardrails in a repeatable, auditable way
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and reusable workflow templates in GitHub Actions, with quality, security and compliance built in
• Help scale the platform as adoption grows - improving reusable templates, guardrails and self‑service capabilities so it serves more teams without more manual effort
• Keep the platform reliable, compliant and secure – monitoring, observability, incident response, patching and continuous improvement of operational practices

• Facilitate discussions and drive alignment across stakeholder groups with different priorities, translating their requirements into coherent, shared platform capabilities.

Your profile

• Degree in IT or equivalent practical experience in a field related to DevOps or software engineering
• 3‑5 years of experience with DevOps or a closely related software engineering role
• Strong hands‑on experience with GitHub Enterprise, including GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines and repository governance
• Solid experience automating infrastructure‑as‑code deployments (Terraform) via GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, targeting Azure and/or AWS
• A product‑oriented mindset and the drive to make developers more productive
• A collaborative, service‑oriented mindset that thrives in agile, iterative environments, measuring success by how productive and self‑sufficient you help platform users become
• Comfortable in an agile environment, delivering iteratively and self‑organizing to keep steady progress
• Nice to have: Experience with regulated / GxP environments
• Fluent in English, German is a plus
