We're Hiring: Deputy Programme Release Manager | Major Banking Transformation Programme, Switzerland

Swiss Himmel GmbH is partnering with a leading private banking institution to find an experienced Deputy Programme Release Manager to join a large-scale transformation programme spanning 25 interdependent value chains.

This is a senior, high-visibility role for a release management leader who thrives in complex, matrixed banking environments and is ready to deputize a Programme Release Manager while leading a team of 10-15 Cluster Release Managers and Release Coordinators.

What you'll own:

• Deputize the Programme Release Manager and lead a team of 10-15 Cluster Release Managers/Release Coordinators
• Define and adapt release management processes across 25 simultaneously delivering projects
• Build and maintain a comprehensive release plan aligned to timelines, dependencies, risk, and environment availability
• Chair release coordination/steering meetings, resolving blockers and managing risk across multiple suppliers
• Drive full traceability (requirements → design → development → test → defects → deployment) via JIRA/Confluence/ALM tools
• Own staging/promotion into environments, working closely with Environment Management
• Track release health KPIs — defect leakage, regression pass rate, rollback frequency, deployment success
• Deliver executive-level reporting on release status, risks and milestones
• Support readiness assessments and lead lessons-learned reviews after each release

What we're looking for:

• Proven prior experience as a Programme Release Manager (not just Release Manager)
• 15+ years in IT project delivery within complex banking/financial services (500-1000+ applications, multiple booking centres)
• Track record leading release trains across SIT/UAT cycles in large-scale, regulated transformation programmes
• Familiarity with wealth management / private banking system landscapes
• Strong grasp of SDLC methodologies — Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, hybrid
• Exceptional stakeholder management, up to senior leadership level
• High EQ and diplomacy navigating conflicting priorities in a matrix organisation
• Fluent English (German or other languages a plus)
• Willingness to work extended hours/weekends during key activities (Data Refresh, Dress Rehearsals)

University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.
