Job summary

Foxmont Talent in Bern is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Engineer to own the full lifecycle of PostgreSQL environments, from design and performance tuning to migrations and automation. The role combines hands-on engineering with migration projects and a hybrid work pattern (one day in the office weekly) in the Bern region.

Qualifications

• Professional experience with PostgreSQL operations, engineering or development.
• Strong SQL, performance tuning and database design skills.
• Good knowledge of Linux environments.
• Experience with Shell, Ansible, Terraform or comparable automation technologies.
• Understanding of replication, clustering, backup and high-availability concepts.
• Oracle experience or database migration experience is advantageous.
• Containers or Kubernetes knowledge is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Confident German and English communication skills.

About the Opportunity

Foxmont Talent is supporting an established Swiss technology organisation looking for an experienced PostgreSQL Database Specialist to join its team in the Bern region.

This is a hands‑on database engineering position covering the full lifecycle of PostgreSQL environments, from architecture and performance optimisation through to migrations, automation and production operations.

The opportunity could also suit an experienced Oracle Database Specialist looking to build deeper expertise in PostgreSQL, particularly within migration and modernisation projects.
