Zusammenfassung

SGI in Zurich is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the operation of mission-critical database platforms. You will manage Oracle, SQL Server and DB2 environments, ensuring high availability, performance tuning, backups, and incident response for production systems.

The role requires 8+ years in database administration or related fields, experience in regulated industries, and a strong security and recovery mindset. Start around December 2026 for a 12-month contract, based in Zurich.

Required Background

• 8+ years of experience in Database Administration, Database Engineering or Database Platform Support

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience administering Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and/or IBM DB2 database environments.
• Experience with database performance tuning, high availability solutions, disaster recovery, backup and recovery processes, and database monitoring tools.
• Solid knowledge of SQL, shell scripting, database security controls and production support within enterprise-scale environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Oracle RAC and other clustering technologies.
• Exposure to database migration, integration and upgrade initiatives.
• Linux/UNIX platform knowledge.
• Automation and database tooling expertise.
• Experience within financial services or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.
