Zusammenfassung

Digitec Galaxus AG in Zürich is seeking a Data Scientist to design, build and run ML workflows behind our product data in the Cyberdyne team. If you have shipped models powering product search and catalog features, you will contribute to production-grade data pipelines and experiments.

You will work with BigQuery / GCP, Airflow or Dagster, and collaborate across product and engineering teams. Fluent English is required; Zurich location offers flexibility and 80% workload options.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of professional experience in data science or ML with a data-focused degree (ETH/UNI/FH).
• Strong SQL skills; comfortable querying large tables.
• Hands-on experience with an orchestrator such as Airflow or Dagster.
• Practical experience running ML models over large datasets, including prompt design, cost control and validation.

Data Scientist - Product Data

In the role as Data Scientist in our team Cyberdyne, you design, build and run the ML workflows behind our product data. If you have ever searched, filtered or compared a product on digitec or galaxus, several of our models helped assemble the data you were looking at. We build in on BigQuery and other GCP services, and we own our models from the first notebook to production.

Your responsibilities

• Designing, building and running ML workflows to build and improve our product catalog


• Building evaluation sets and validation logic that catch quality problems before customers do


• You stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends (e.g. latest LLM developments) to continuously enhance our solution


• Improving the tooling our team relies on, so the next workflow is quicker to build than the last

Your skills

• Several years of professional experience in data science or machine learning, with a higher education degree in a data-focused field (ETH/UNI/FH)


• Strong , plus SQL you are comfortable writing against large tables


• Hands-on experience with an orchestrator such as Airflow or Dagster


• Practical experience running ML Models over large datasets, including prompt design, cost control and validation of the results


• Experience with BigQuery or a comparable cloud data warehouse, ideally on GCP


• Fluent English; is a plus.
