Orange Business Services is seeking a Data Platform Manager Consultant to lead the stabilization, industrialization and continuous improvement of an enterprise Cloud Data Platform in Geneva. • Hands-on Databricks experience: jobs, notebooks, orchestration and production support.
• Strong knowledge of dbt workflows, data modelling, testing and DataOps practices.
• Experience with ITIL practices and managed services governance.

• Identify cost optimization opportunities for steering committees.
• Contribute to a 3-year technology roadmap including DataOps, FinOps and automation.

To support a strategic Data Platform transformation for one of our clients in the luxury sector, we are looking for a Data Platform Manager to lead the stabilization, industrialization and continuous improvement of an enterprise Cloud Data Platform.

In this role, you will coordinate Data Engineering activities, strengthen Run reliability, implement ITIL practices, optimize the managed services model, and support the evolution of the platform towards a scalable, service-oriented and business-focused operating model. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Integration teams, BI teams, IT management, Finance, Procurement and external providers to ensure reliable delivery, clear governance and measurable value creation.

Your key areas of responsibility as Data Platform Manager Consultant:

• Coordinate and animate Data Engineering activities, including backlog prioritization, delivery rituals, dependency management, risks and decision preparation.
• Drive the industrialization of the Cloud Data Platform through reusable delivery standards, quality gates, documentation rules, release practices and operational readiness criteria.
• Support the implementation of ITIL practices for incident, request, change, problem, knowledge and service level management.
• Improve Run reliability and service performance, with a focus on platform availability, delivery predictability and incident reduction.
• Optimize the managed services model, including supplier governance, SLA/KPI tracking, service reviews and continuous improvement actions.
• Coordinate end-to-end delivery with Integration and BI teams, from source connectivity to business data consumption.
• Contribute to the definition and adoption of a Data Platform service and product catalog.
• Implement budget monitoring and consumption projection for cloud services, Databricks workloads, data ingestion, orchestration, managed services and support effort.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and prepare decision inputs for steering committees.
• Contribute to a three-year technology and service transformation roadmap, including automation, observability, DataOps, FinOps and service maturity.
• Support knowledge transfer and skills development for client teams through coaching, workshops, runbooks, documentation and hands‑on enablement.

As an ideal candidate you have:

• Strong experience managing enterprise data platforms and leading or coordinating Data Engineering teams.
• Solid understanding of Cloud Data Platform operating models, DataOps practices and production support requirements.
• Good knowledge of Azure cloud services, including security principles, identity, networking, monitoring and cost awareness.
• Hands‑on understanding of Databricks, including jobs, notebooks, orchestration, Delta patterns, performance and production support practices.
• Strong understanding of dbt transformation workflows, data modelling standards, testing, documentation and DataOps practices.
• Experience with Fivetran or managed ingestion tools, including connector lifecycle, monitoring, data freshness and error handling.
• Experience with Control‑M or enterprise scheduling tools, including batch orchestration, dependency management and production monitoring.
• Proven experience with ITIL practices, managed services governance, supplier management, SLA/KPI reporting and continuous improvement.
• Ability to structure budget follow‑up, cloud consumption analysis, forecasting, variance explanation and cost optimization actions.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate with engineering teams, IT leadership, business stakeholders and external providers.
• Fluency in English and French.
