We're recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing, globally recognised consumer brand undergoing a major overhaul of its enterprise data and reporting infrastructure.

The Opportunity

This is an independent, high-visibility architecture role reporting directly into senior leadership, including the CFO's office. The business is scaling quickly and has outgrown its current reporting infrastructure - manual spreadsheets and disconnected pipelines are standing in for automated, trusted reporting on core commercial metrics.

You'll come in as the independent technical authority: auditing existing pipelines end-to-end, diagnosing exactly why current systems and governance investments haven't delivered automated reporting, and architecting the target-state fix, hierarchy/master data mapping, semantic layer design, and metrics governed centrally as code.

This isn't a build-from-a-blank-page role, and it isn't a maintain-what-exists role either. It's forensic, strategic, and fast-moving: you diagnose, you design, and you hand over a blueprint the business can execute against.

What You'll Do

• Audit and trace existing data pipelines end-to-end, from source systems through to executive BI dashboards
• Diagnose the technical root causes behind reporting gaps, manual workarounds, and governance shortfalls
• Architect a target-state enterprise data model, including master data/hierarchy mapping and a centralized semantic layer
• Co-design the solution directly with the Data Governance Lead and Director of Data
• Deliver a working MVP for core sales reporting metrics within an aggressive 3-month window, while laying the foundation for a longer-term enterprise rollout

What You'll Bring

• Extensive experience as a Senior Data Architect or Data Engineer, ideally including complex, multi-domain or product-led organisations
• Strong track record in data lineage tracing, root-cause diagnostics, and legacy pipeline audits
• Deep experience with master data management, hierarchy/crosswalk mapping, and semantic layer or metrics-as-code frameworks (e.g. dbt or equivalent)
• Broad, platform-agnostic cloud experience (GCP, AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) - comfort working across fragmented, multi-cloud environments is more valuable than depth in a single stack
• A proven ability to operate independently, take ownership of ambiguous problems, and influence senior stakeholders including C-suite
• Prior experience in an interim, consultancy, or contract capacity is strongly preferred
