SGI in Basel, Switzerland is seeking an experienced Data Analytics Engineer to join a banking technology transformation programme.

You will design and implement scalable data pipelines using Spark, Python, and modern data platforms to support analytics initiatives and business decisions.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of experience with modern data engineering technologies.
• Experience building data pipelines for data warehouses, lakes, or lakehouses.
• Hands-on experience with Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, dbt, ELK, or similar technologies.
• Strong Python development skills.

About the Role

Join a banking technology transformation programme to help build and modernise a data lakehouse platform. You will develop scalable data pipelines, support advanced analytics initiatives, and work closely with business and technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end data pipelines using Spark, SQL, and Python.
• Gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to data architecture and platform design.
• Support data-related issues and participate in on-call rotations.
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of modern data technologies.

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of experience with modern data engineering technologies.
• Experience building data pipelines for data warehouses, lakes, or lakehouses.
• Hands-on experience with Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, dbt, ELK, or similar technologies.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Expertise in data modelling, architecture, and scalable application design.

Preferred

• Banking or financial services experience.
• Apache Iceberg, Airflow, NiFi, CI/CD, Kafka Streaming.
• SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Cassandra, etc.).
