Big Science Sweden is looking for an expert in Data Acquisition Development and Particle Detectors to join a mission-critical team focused on real-time luminosity measurements for the CMS Detector upgrade in Switzerland. Candidates must hold a master's degree with 2 to 6 years of experience or a PhD with a maximum of 3 years of experience. Note that applicants from certain countries are not eligible due to application ceiling restrictions.

Are you an expert in Data Acquisition Development and Particle Detectors? This is an opportunity to work in a mission-critical team providing real-time luminosity measurements for the updgrade of the CMS Detector.

This system directly impacts the operation of the future High Luminosity LHC and the quality of many physics measurements, performed in CMS.

• You are a national of aCERN Member State or Associate Member State . Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
• By the application deadline, you have a master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of professional experience since graduation or a PhD with a maximum of 3 years of professional experience since graduation. You are not eligible with only a bachelor’s degree.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
