Zusammenfassung

Proxima Fusion, Europe\'s fastest-growing fusion company, seeks a Cryogenic Engineer to design and validate the cryogenic systems powering Alpha\'s superconducting magnets. You will balance thermal engineering, fluid dynamics, and cryogenic design to enable reliable operation in a first-of-a-kind machine.

You will work across disciplines with plasma physics, magnets, cryogenics and controls, contributing to a practical, execution-minded team shaping the world\'s first commercial stellarator

Qualifikationen

  • Team player who tackles difficult challenges and iterates
  • Engineer with strong modelling and hands-on cryogenic experience
  • Experience in cryogenic hardware design, commissioning, and operation
  • Proven ability to specify and design cryogenic cooling using multi-physics tools and ROM
  • Experience validating cryogenic systems via simulations, testing, prototyping
  • Demonstrated ability to lead external work packages and manage procurement projects

Aufgaben

  • Specify, design, and analyze cooling systems to meet cryogenic performance requirements, ensuring model accuracy is verified by testing protocols
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership during the construction, commissioning, and long-term operation of the cryogenic plant and its subsystems
  • Conduct performance analysis, testing, and troubleshooting of cryogenic systems
  • Collaborate closely with electromagnetic, mechanical and electrical engineers, magnet experts, and physicists
  • Identify and act as an expert customer for projects with external suppliers and partners to specify and co-design cryogenic systems with the highest quality and speed
